Founder, Specific Carbohydrate Diet Association
Crohn’s Disease Patient Advocate

About me

I have lived with Crohn’s disease for most of my life. What started as confusion, pain, and searching eventually became understanding, discipline, and a commitment to help others find their own path forward.

Who I am

I am the Founder of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet Association and a Crohn’s disease patient advocate with over 30 years of lived experience using the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Over the years, I have built and supported a global network of individuals and families who are navigating inflammatory bowel disease through diet, education, and shared experience.

What I do

I lead more than 60 online communities where people come together to learn, share, and support one another.

This work is not about perfection. It is about understanding your body, having patience, and recognizing that healing and management take time.

I also work to preserve and share the legacy of Elaine Gottschall, ensuring that accurate information about the Specific Carbohydrate Diet continues to reach those who are searching for answers.

Lived Experience

My perspective does not come from a textbook.

It comes from decades of living with Crohn’s disease, navigating symptoms, setbacks, surgeries, and learning how food, stress, and environment all play a role.

That lived experience is what I share.

Not as authority over anyone, but as guidance for those who are trying to make sense of their own journey.

Important Clarification

I am not a medical doctor or clinician.

I share my personal experience and what I have learned over a lifetime of living with Crohn’s disease. Anyone making medical decisions should work with qualified healthcare professionals.

If you are looking for support, education, or community, you can learn more through the Specific Carbohydrate Diet Association.
